Introduction
MetaCleaner ("we," "our," or "us") is a mobile application developed for Android that allows users
to scan and remove AI-generated metadata from images. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect,
use, and protect information when you use our application (the "App").
By downloading, installing, or using MetaCleaner, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
Information We Do NOT Collect
MetaCleaner is designed with your privacy in mind. We want to be transparent about what we do not do:
- We do not upload your images to any server. All image scanning and metadata cleaning is performed entirely on your device (locally/offline).
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.
- We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with any third parties.
Information Collected Automatically
While the App itself does not collect personal data, we use the following third-party services that may collect certain information automatically:
Google AdMob (Advertising)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and process the following information:
- Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
- IP address
- Device information (model, operating system version, screen size)
- App usage data (session duration, screens viewed)
- Approximate location (based on IP address)

Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App and to improve the user experience. Firebase Analytics may collect:
- App usage data and events (e.g., screens viewed, features used)
- Device information (model, OS version, language, screen resolution)
- Crash-free statistics

Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic information. Crashlytics may collect:
- Crash stack traces and logs
- Device state at time of crash (memory, disk space, battery level)
- Device model and operating system version
- App version and build number
- A Crashlytics installation UUID (not tied to personal identity)
This data is used solely to identify, diagnose, and fix software issues. For more information, see the

Permissions
MetaCleaner requests the following Android permissions:

Important: We only access images that you explicitly select through the system file picker. We do not browse, index, or scan your entire photo library.
How We Use Information
Information collected by third-party services is used for the following purposes:
- Advertising: To display ads within the App and support its free availability.
- Analytics: To understand usage patterns and improve the App's features and performance.
- Crash Reporting: To identify and fix technical issues, ensuring a stable user experience.
Data Storage and Security
- Images and metadata: All image processing occurs entirely on your device. Your images are never transmitted, stored, or processed on any external server.
- Cleaned images: When you export cleaned images, they are saved to your device's local storage. We do not retain any copies.
- Session history: The App stores a local history of your scanning sessions using Android DataStore on your device only. This data is not transmitted externally.
- Third-party data: Data collected by Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics is handled according to their respective privacy policies and security practices.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
Children's Privacy
MetaCleaner is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal
information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove such information.
Your Choices and Rights
- Opt out of personalized advertising: You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device's advertising settings (Settings โ Privacy โ Ads on most Android devices), or by resetting your Advertising ID.
- Disable analytics: You can limit data collection by disabling "Usage & diagnostics" in your Android device settings.
- Uninstall the App: You can stop all data collection by uninstalling MetaCleaner from your device.
- GDPR (European Users): If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. The App will present a consent dialog for personalized advertising in compliance with applicable regulations. You may withdraw consent at any time through the App's settings.
- CCPA (California Users): California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. As we do not collect personal information directly, this primarily applies to data collected by our third-party service providers.
Data Retention
- Local data (session history, preferences) is stored on your device and persists until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
- Third-party data is retained according to the policies of Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date
at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
